About oBike

What is oBike?

  • oBike, is a bicycle-sharing platform, offering commuters a convenient, on-demand alternative mode of transportation.

  • Commuting via oBike helps reduce traffic congestion and environmental pollution, making the city a better place to live in. Users can simply rent or return a bike whenever, wherever, via the oBike app.

How does oBike work?

  • Reserve a bike and unlock it using the oBike app. At the end of the ride, just park the bike in a designated public bike-parking area and lock it using the app.

Safety

  • We encourage users to look after their own safety by wearing helmets while riding oBikes. For more information on good bicycle cycling safety habits, visit http://cycling.org.sg/cycle-safe/

Can't receive the SMS Code

  • There are various reasons in which you may not receive your SMS code:

    a) Poor Network Coverage

    b) Server Timeout

  • In the above cases, you should try moving to a slightly different location and request for a new SMS Code.

What's an invitation code?

  • Each user has a unique invitation code, which can be used to invite others.

  • When an invitation code is keyed in by a new user, both users may enjoy benefits provided by oBike.

  • If you enjoy oBike, invite your friends to join us and commute to a healthier you.

I have changed to a new mobile number

  • You can request for a refund of your deposit and register as a new user using your new mobile number.

Unlock & Lock

How long is the reservation?

  • You can reserve a bicycle by clicking the reserve button. Upon reservation, the bicycle will be reserved for you for 10 minutes.

  • You can proceed to your reserved bicycle and unlock it.

  • Your reservation will expire after 10 minutes.

How do I find the bike I reserved.

  • If you have reserved a bicycle successfully, it will be the only one shown on the map, along with directions to find it.

  • The bike's actual location may vary slightly from the app, so do look around for it.

  • You can also unlock another bike while looking for the reserved bike. Your existing reservation will then be cancelled.

Deposit

Why do I have to pay a deposit?

  • A deposit is required to use oBike to ensure user’s responsibility while using our service. This deposit is refundable in the event the user decides not to continue with our service.

Pay deposit and refund deposit

  • To pay deposit, please enter Member Centre, My wallet and click Pay deposit.

  • To get a refund for your deposit, please go to My wallet, and click the link for refund deposit. You will receive your deposit within 14 working days.

  • If you did not receive your refund after 30 working days, please inform us and we will look into it immediately.

  • You can request for refund of deposit once at no cost. For request of refund more than once, a transaction fee will be imposed and deducted from the deposit.

The balance in my wallet

  • The balance in your wallet can only be used to pay for your ride.

  • The balance has no expiration date, is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Pricing

  • The pricing of your ride may vary according to your credit points. Users who exhibit poor riding habits may be subjected to higher rental rates.

  • Users with higher credit points may enjoy discounted rates on their rides.

If the balance is less than 0

  • You should top up your wallet first.

  • If you are already riding, it will not prevent you from completing your trip.

  • To top-up your wallet, enter User Centre, My wallet and top up your preferred amount.

Return bike

Where to park a bike?

  • The bike should be returned to any designated public bike-parking area.

  • Please do not park anywhere that causes obstruction, or at a private place which will prevent other users from finding it.

Credit points

About Credit

  • oBike was borne out of a passion to provide a convenient, environmentally-friendly way to travel.

  • The oBike credit system is used to encourage positive riding and responsible behaviours while sending a strong signal to negative ones through the deduction of oBike credits.

  • Some of the acts below may warrant police reports being lodged if the bikes are found tampered with, stolen or damaged.

  • Below are the credit rules:

How does the Credit Scoring System work?

  • Each user will receive 100 oBike credits upon registration.

  • Good behaviour will be rewarded with credits. The higher the credits, the more benefits you will get to enjoy with us.

  • The lower your credit points, the higher the cost of your ride.

Dispute about the records of your Credits

  • You can see the detailed records of your credit. Please enter User Centre, My Credit, Record.

  • If you find any issues with your credits record, do inform us by clicking Report. We will look into it as soon as possible.
